Steve's Latest update
If you are anything like me you may be asking where this year has gone? Next Sunday is Advent Sunday and we begin to countdown to Christmas. As well as our usual morning services we are holding a special Evening Service at 6.30pm.
Our annual Bazaar is the following weekend on Saturday 6th December. As well as our usual stalls don’t miss Andrew Dand's Magic Stall and Holly Cranmer's Hand Made Soap Stall! You may also like to know that we have had an adult’s bike donated. We plan to auction this at the Bazaar so come prepared to bid! Please do get involved – we still need offers of help to Sue Charlton and people to put leaflets through their neighbours’ doors or display a poster. Do invite family, friends and neighbours along – it promises to be a great day and all of the proceeds will be donated to Ealing Christians Against Poverty – helping local people in need.
This year there is a change in our pattern of Christmas Services. In order to accommodate a growing congregation we are holding two identical Carol Services on Sunday 21st December at 4pm and 6.30pm. Come along to whichever suits you best and do invite people to come with you. The Carol Service is always a lovely occasion and this year we can share it with twice as many people.
On Christmas Eve our afternoon service will be held at 4pm and will take the form of a nativity service with christingles. Children are encouraged to come dressed up as a nativity character and take part. Midnight Communion is as always at 11.30pm but the Christmas Day All Age Celebration and Communion will this year be at 10.30am allowing a little longer at home to open those early morning presents or have a celebration breakfast.
If you are thinking of coming with us to New Wine next summer now is a good time to book as the best deals are available before 2nd December. Book direct.
Finally a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has revised their giving pledges. We were seeking an increase in giving for 2015 of £8,000 but thanks to your generosity and sacrificial giving have had additional pledges totalling £13,600 (inc gift aid). This will enable us to do more than we had hoped and we are incredibly grateful to you all. If you are yet to make your pledge there is still time and for those who have changed their giving please remember to advise your bank in good time if you need to do that.
With my love
