Vicar's update 29th Sep Steve4to5-3244373775-O

We had a wonderful weekend – on Friday well over 20 of us dropped in to the Church Centre to pray for St Stephen's, using the excellent prayer stations set up by Susy and Andrew.  The Church Council spent a great day together on Saturday to look at our future vision.  On Sunday the Community Café and Water Station gave us lots of opportunities to speak to and serve others and Café Church on Sunday afternoon was a tremendous success.  Thank you to everyone who helped in any way.

Alpha begins tomorrow evening (30th September) at 7.30pm.  There are a good number planning to come but it’s not too late to invite someone or to come yourself.  If you can let Andrew Dand know that would be helpful but you can just turn up!

This Sunday (4th October) we celebrate Harvest.  Food goods and/or money collected at the service will be passed on to the Ealing Foodbank (please only bring items from the Foodbank list).  The Cafe will be open as usual at 10am for refreshments and we will be holding a single Whole Church Service at 10.30am followed by a Shared Lunch, please come to worship and stay and eat with the church family.    For those who are unable to join us at 10.30, we will hold said Morning Prayer (not Communion) at 9.00am and said Evening Prayer at 6.30pm.

On Sunday evening at 7.30pm we are starting a new meeting called Open to God.  This fortnightly gathering aims to provide an opportunity to seek more of God’s presence through more intimate worship, teaching and individual ministry.  Do you feel that you want to go deeper in your faith and experience of God?  This could be for you!

With my love

Steve
