Vicar's update 18th Nov
Steve4to5-3244373775-O

I hope you are having a good week.

Our Giving Coordinators have now had the chance to assess all of the giving pledges received.  I am delighted to tell you that in 2016 the total increase in giving (inc tax reclaimed) will be almost £17,000 and therefore we have been able to balance our budget for next year.  THANK YOU to everyone who responded so generously.

Growing Leaders iconWe had a good Exploratory Session for Growing Leaders on Sunday – if you are interested in joining in but were unable to attend please collect a response form from Jane Maffett and sign up by 13th December.

Do remember that our Christmas Bazaar is just over a week away – Saturday 28th November 10.30am – 2.30pm.  All of the profits will be shared between the work of Ealing Christians Against Poverty and the Ealing Soup Kitchen two important local causes.  Please do all that you can to support the Bazaar – tell your friends and neighbours so that we get a good crowd on the day.  There are still lots of posters and flyers available for you to display and hand out.

Advent is almost upon us and is a great time of year to either start or grow a daily Bible reading habit.  This year we thought it would be good to choose one Advent One True Lightbook of daily bible readings that we can all read together as a church during Advent.  We have chosen The One True Light by Tim Chester which a Church Times reviewer described as ‘imaginative, and often deeply moving’ and ‘a joy to encounter’. It will be available through the bookstall, and all you need to do is sign up for a copy this coming Sunday, and it will be ready to collect on Advent Sunday 29th November, priced at £4.99.

With my love

Steve
