Vicar's update 7 Dec DSCF5838crop

I love Advent as we look forward with growing excitement to Christmas and more importantly to the new life that we are promised in Jesus.  Yesterday was a great Sunday as Dinos Horattides preached a challenging sermon at 9am – it’s worth listening to on our website. Our All Age Service was vibrant and fun as Andrew Dand encouraged us to be the trailer for Jesus as we go about our normal lives in the world.  Our evening Open to God continues to grow both in numbers and depth of worship and has an increasingly important place in our Church life – it resumes next January.

Next Sunday we have our usual morning services (9am and 10.30am) but in the evening Peter Charlton and others will be leading Now Enter Christmas! - an Advent miscellany of poetry, prose and praise at 6.30pm.  This will be a chance to slow down and take stock as we prepare for Christmas.

In case you haven’t yet clocked details of our Christmas Services here they are:
Sunday 20th December
9am Said Morning Prayer (no hymns or sermon)
10.30am Whole Church Communion
4.30pm and 6.30pm Traditional Carol Services

11.30pm Midnight Communion

Sunday 27th December
10.30am Whole Church Communion (usual cafe frpm 10am)

We still have lots of Christmas invitations to deliver so if you can, please do pop into Church and take a bundle or two to deliver before the first Carol Service on 20th December.

Wishing you a good week as we continue our Advent journey.
