Vicar's update 19th April
I hope you felt as inspired and encouraged as I did by our Annual Meeting, thank to those who came. Rosemary Beardow and Geoff Thomas were elected as our Churchwardens; please do pray for them in their roles and for others elected to positions of responsibility. At the meeting I introduced our new Mission Action Plan which can now be found here and our new strapline:
Worshipping Jesus - Growing Together - Reaching Others
If you were unable to attend, my talk to the meeting is also available here.
Like all charitable organisations, we are always seeking to increase our income to further our work. Some of you may have heard of givingabit.com, a website which allows users to purchase items through partner retailers and donate a percentage of the cost to their preferred charity. We have registered St Stephen's as a charity and can therefore benefit from our collective spending power – most of the places we shop on line are covered e.g. Amazon, John Lewis, Waitrose, Sainsburys, Argos. We have tested the site and know that it is simple to use, just follow these 3 easy steps:
Create an account through givingabit.com
Choose to donate to your chosen charity listed as St Stephen’s Church Ealing
Use the givingabit links to do your shopping, or you can install their simple tool that automatically registers your shopping and donates to us.
The great thing is that this costs nothing - we pay the usual prices for our goods, but a small amount is donated to St Stephens. Please do sign up here and make money for St Stephen’s as you do your online shopping.
With my love and prayers
Have a great week.
