Vicar's update 28th April           Steve4to5-3244373775-O

I hope you are as excited as I am at the plans to plant a Missional Community on the Gurnell Grove Estate which I outlined at the annual meeting last week.  It was great to be joined by the initial Team members last Sunday to hear more about the plans and how we can be involved.  If you weren’t in Church do listen to the interview here.

Don’t forget to sign up to which I outlined in last week’s letter.  Caroline and I did our online supermarket shop last week through and raised 50p for St Stephen’s at no cost to us.  It’s not much but think how much we could raise for our church in this effortless way if more of us sign up and use the website as the way into our online shops. There’s no catch, it works because the companies involved pay givingabit a commission.

Next week (Thursday 5th May) the Church celebrates the Ascension of Jesus.  This year instead of our usual service we are doing something new - joining with the people of St Barnabas and St Peter’s for a Prayer Walk and joint service.  We meet at St Stephen’s at 6.45pm (7.15pm at St Barnabas if you want to start nearer to the finishing line and 7.45pm at St Peter’s).  Let’s support this act of unity and take the opportunity to pray for our community and worship with other local Christians.
With my love and prayers

Have a great week.
