Vicar's update 23rd May           Steve4to5-3244373775-O

It has been lovely over the past few weeks to welcome a number of visitors and new people to St Stephen’s.  Please do look out for those you don’t know and introduce yourself on a Sunday morning especially if you see people standing on their own – it really helps newer people to feel welcome and included.

Thank you to those who responded to yesterday’s appeal for volunteers at the Ealing Soup Kitchen this weekend.  Although we are grateful this weekend is now covered, we do have an ongoing need for more volunteers.  The Soup Kitchen typically serves 80-100 guests each Saturday and Sunday in a 2hr window.  The St Stephen’s team is on duty about once every six weeks and we need a team of 2 people to shop and cater each day and a minimum of 10 people to run the session.  Several of the existing volunteers are in their 70’s and we could really do with younger people (20-50s) to help.  In addition the Soup Kitchen has now opened a Hub on a Friday lunchtime and Monday evening.  Light refreshments are served, but these are really an opportunity for quality time with, and providing help to, our guests.  If you are interested in helping in any way please do contact Jen and Andrew Whadcoat

Our next special event is on Sunday 12th June when we will be marking the Queen’s 90th birthday.  Do invite your family and friends to join us in our worship that day as we celebrate this important national event.  The 10.30am Guest Service will be followed by a Shared Lunch so please plan to come and enjoy some extra time together.

Wishing you a great week.

Have a great week.

With my love and prayers
