Vicar's update 19th July
Please pray for those of us who will be attending New Wine next week. We are really excited about our time away together and expectant of all that God will do among us. A few people have talked about coming down for a day during the week – if you are interested speak to Andrew Dand or myself for more details.
Our next full immersion baptism service will be on 18th September – if you are interested and haven’t yet been baptised please speak to one of the clergy as soon as possible. If you have already been baptised but would like to renew your baptism vows do let us know.
From September we will be seeing a little less of Andrew Dand. The Vicar of his former Church (St Gabriel’s Cricklewood) has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, which will entail her being off work for at least six months. The Bishop has asked Andrew to provide some consistent clergy leadership and cover to St Gabriel’s while she is signed off work. What this means in practice is that Andrew will spend 2 or 3 Sundays each month and a full day during the week at St Gabriel’s. Obviously this will be a loss to us at St Stephen’s but Andrew will still be here for most of the week and able to attend many meetings, lead Alpha, and generally be a part of the Parish. We will work out the details over the summer.
Tina Yarrell has asked if anyone has a spare adult bike that they no longer need? She knows of someone who really needs a bike but doesn't have the means to buy one. If you do, please contact her on firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are interested in undertaking the Growing Leaders course in the autumn please can you send in application and deposit by the end of July.
Wishing you a good week.
With my love
