Vicar's update 27th September         Steve4to5-3244373775-O

It was great to be actively involved in the Ealing Half Marathon once again this year.  As well as organising the Water Station and cheering on the runners we gave away lots of coffee and pastries to supporters.  I was particularly grateful that the UFO Steel band were back to entertain us and encourage all the runners and volunteers - a lovely morning.  Café Church in the afternoon also went well and we were well fed both physically and spiritually.

Next weekend we celebrate Harvest.  On Saturday our young people are running a Murder Mystery dinner to raise money for Tearfund – there are still a few tickets available, contact the Church Office for more information.  On Sunday (2nd) we will hold our Harvest Festival Services (9am and 10.30am) with Cool Christians taking part at the 10.30am All Age Worship.  Please come prepared to donate to the Ealing Foodbank with money (cheques made payable to St Stephen’s Ealing PCC) or gifts of tinned fruit, tinned vegetables, long life puddings and cakes, sugar (0.5kg and 1kg only), nuts, deodorant, long life milk and fruit juice.  Please DO NOT bring fresh produce as the Food Bank are unable to make use of it.

On Sunday evening at Open to God we will be thinking about healing and offering prayer/anointing for any who would like.

Alpha starts next week (Tuesday 4th October). The testimonies at our baptism service last week bore witness to how the Alpha course can change lives so please keep on praying for and inviting family, friends and neighbours to come along.   During Alpha our monthly Prayer Meeting will move from a Tuesday to a Wednesday – next week on 5th October.

There is a New Wine Women’s Day at Westminster Central Hall on Saturday 8th October, cost £25.  If you would like a flavour of New Wine without committing to a week under canvas or if you have enjoyed their conferences in the past this could be for you.  Great worship, teaching and prayer ministry.  I know some have already booked to go but if you want to know more or book go to the New Wine website.

Wishing you a good week.
