Vicar's update 20th March
We had a good weekend with lots going on – the 3 different talks given by Dinos Horattides, Urmila Kurkalang and Andrew Dand at yesterday’s services are now available to listen to on our website.
This coming Saturday we are hosting a Spring Craft Fair from 11-3. Please drop in if you can as numbers through the door make a big difference to the stall holders whether or not you buy anything! There will be a wide variety of things for sale, a children’s craft workshop plus refreshments and light lunches – all to raise money towards the cost of our free Community Fete in July.
On Sunday we celebrate Mothering Sunday at our morning services, a great opportunity to invite a grandmother/mother/aunt/child/friend* who doesn’t normally come to church. The 10.30am service is All Age Communion and our children will be taking part. As usual there will be a gift for all the women who come along. Our Cool Christians are also holding a cake sale on Sunday so come prepared to buy a few for tea.
Several local schools will be visiting Church for our Experience Easter event next week. Some of the children may never have been in a church or may know very little of the Easter story – please pray that the Holy Spirit will work in their lives and they will leave understanding much more about Jesus’s death and resurrection and experiencing his love.
We are about to advertise for a part time Youth and Older Children’s Minister and an Intern to work across Church and The Grove Missional Community. Details will soon be on our website – please pray for good appointments.
Finally, Tinnie Williams’s funeral will be held at Church on Friday 7th April at 12 noon followed by burial at Greenford Park Cemetery. All are welcome.
With my love
