Vicar's update 24th April
Our Annual Meeting went well last night – thanks to all who came and supported the evening. If you missed the meeting you can catch up and listen to my talk on the church website.
Our Confirmation Service is on Sunday at 10.30am. Do come to hear Bishop Ric Thorpe the Bishop of Islington and support those being confirmed Alice Pui Pui, Ben Harding Anderson, George Dunkley and Rose Meng - please pray for them. There will be a Café with special cakes after the service.
Next week, a number of us will be attending the HTB Leadership Conference at the Royal Albert Hall with varied speakers including Cardinal Tagle, Simon Sinek, Jean Vanier, and Miranda Hart! Pray that we encounter God in fresh and exciting ways and come back inspired and renewed.
The Dand family leave us on Sunday 7th May – make sure that you are in Church that day (9am, 10.30am and 6.30pm) to say goodbye to them and do come to the Bring and Share lunch – if you haven’t signed up let the Morgen Edwards know (firstname.lastname@example.org) .
Sue Charlton went to the CSW Conference on Saturday and I attach her reflections from that day. CSW is a great organisation supporting persecuted Christians – please pray for their work.
Andrew Dixon writes… 'Thanks to help from St Stephen’s and others, premature babies born at St Francis Hospital, Katete, Zambia will soon be able to breath their life supporting oxygen without interruption. The gas is generated in portable machines by the bedside. The snag is that the electrical mains often fails leading to fatal consequences. The team that we help support is sending to Katete a cleaver device that will start up the hospital’s standby generator automatically when the mains fails, thus saving some potentially critical 15 minutes. Thanks for your support.'
With my love
