Vicar's update 22nd MaySteve4to5-3244373775-O

Yesterday it was lovely to welcome back the Revd Jan Clark former Vicar at St Stephen's.  Jan encouraged us to respond to God’s call in our lives – her talk can be found on our website here.

This week sees the beginning of Thy Kingdom Come, a global wave of prayer for a fresh outpouring of the Spirit on our churches and those we know are not yet Christians.  There are lots of prayer initiatives going on across the Brough (see details here) - please join in where you can and especially at these key events this week:
Thursday 25th May        8pm                      Ascension Day Communion at St Stephen's
Saturday 27th May         5.30pm – 6.30pm Ealing Churches together event at Haven Green Baptist Church

Our friends at The Grove Missional Community are doing a community clean up week called the Big Clean Up Week Monday 5th to Friday 9th  June.  They will be working with local residents to paint some of the tower block stairwells and landings, maintain some of the gardens at the sheltered housing accommodation and other outside jobs.  There will also be an Eden Bus which will host coffee mornings for parents, an after school homework club and a youth drop in zone. At the end of the week there will be a celebratory community BBQ.  Might you be willing to volunteer for an hour or two in some way?  If so please contact Mark Tate direct mark@gurnellgrove.com

A reminder to let Morgen Edwards (admin@ststephens-ealing.org) know if you are planning to attend Andrew Dand’s licensing on Wednesday 7th June at 8pm.

Have a good week.

With my love

Steve
