Vicar's update 28th May
I was delighted to announce today that we will be joined by a new ordained member of staff for one year, starting in July. Ajay More has been Curate at St James Alperton for the past 3 years and a member there for almost 18years and is joining us to gain experience of a different church. Ajay is married to Kavita and they have a son Abhishek (16) and daughter Rapita (12). The family will continue to live in their family home in Perivale.
There are two really important weekends coming up. During both our history project Time Travelling will be open from 10am to 4pm each day Check out details here. Do invite friends of the church, old and new, to come and have a look with you.
Next weekend is Pentecost when we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit. On Saturday 3rd (10am – 4pm) in parallel with the history project we will have some Prayer Stations in Church as we pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit and join with other churches in praying for friends and family to know God – drop in when you can. On Sunday we have Communion at 9am, All Age Worship at 10.30am and a Pentecost Celebration at 6.30pm.
The following weekend marks our actual 150th anniversary. The history project will again run throughout the weekend and on Sunday we will be joined by David Ison, Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral who is preaching at both 9am and 10.30am. After the 10.30am service there is a free Hog Roast lunch for us all and the afternoon will continue with some Victorian themed games and activities. Please do come to worship that day and bring friends/neighbours who live in this area.
With my love
Have a good week.
