Vicar's update 9th OctoberSteve Newbold 2017 web2

I hope this mailing finds you well.

This is the time of year when we are all asked to renew, or make a financial commitment to St Stephen’s.  Letters are available for all members and I hope that you will prayerfully consider how to respond.  Yesterday’s sermon on giving is now available on the website and next week Ajay will be preaching further into the subject.   It would help if you can return your completed pledge by Sunday 5th November.

Last night at Open to God, Ash Abbott gave a great talk about worship - that is also available on the website and well worth a listen.
On Saturday (21st) from 10am to 2pm we are holding a Big Clean and odd job morning at church we’d love you to help as we have a great variety of big and small jobs to undertake.  There are a few projects that require carpentry expertise as well as some painting that needs to be carried out.    Even if you don't consider yourself talented, we could really use your help so please come along and give an hour or two of your time to freshen up the church - your efforts will be greatly appreciated.
On Sunday 29th October we are planning a ‘bring and share lunch' for all church members. So far only a few of us have signed up so, if you are planning to attend, please do sign up by this Sunday (22nd) so that we can be certain that enough are coming to make it viable.
Pauline Craven is currently staying in St David’s Care Home and would welcome visitors if any of her friends from St Stephen’s are able to pop in and see her
Have a good week.
