Vicar's update 6th March
What an exciting day on Sunday. 2 people responded to the message at our 10.30am service and made a commitment to Christ. As I preached – there is power in the Cross. If you missed my talk it can be found on our church website here. In the afternoon we hosted a Welcome Tea for 13 adults and 8 children all of whom who had joined our church in recent months. We have much to praise God for.
This coming Sunday (11th) is Mothering Sunday. As well as our usual 9am service, our 10.30am service will be our monthly All Age Worship with Cool Christians taking part and gifts for all mothers. Do join us and bring your children, mothers, grandmothers, aunts etc.
Also on Sunday (11th) at 6.30pm we have Open to God with Andrew Dand, our former curate, coming to speak to us.
Easter is just around the corner and from this coming Sunday you can sign up to come to our Maundy Thursday Supper and Communion (for those aged over 7) and begin to contribute towards flowers to decorate the church at Easter.
Do remember our Lent appeal where we are collecting for the Diocesan Homelessness Fund. I have challanged us all to consider giving a sum equivalent to what we might spend on a good night or day out for us and our family. You can donate at anytime using a blue Gift Aid envelope (please mark it LENT APPEAL).
Finally, our church policy is to admit to Holy Communion the baptised children of any age whose parents wish them to receive the bread and wine. If you would like your child to start to receive Communion, maybe at Easter, please do let me know.
With best wishes
