Vicar's update 21st MaySteve Newbold 2017 web2

If you were in church yesterday you will have seen the new Holy Spirit banner for our Communion Table.  This has been kindly donated by Maisie Poulton in memory of her late husband Ivan.  Maisie has also donated some new linen for use at Communion.  These gifts are particularly appropriate as Ivan was a man full of the Spirit of God, a man who loved worship and the Eucharist.  Thank you Maisie.

We also announced that Urmila Kurkalang has been accepted  by the Church of England for ordination training.  This is very exciting and Urmila will be a great blessing to the wider church.  However, it will mean that Urmila, Jonas and Samara are likely to be leaving us in the autumn when Urmila starts her training.  Please do pray for them all.

We sang a lovely new song at our 10.30am service yesterday and will be using it more over the coming weeks – if you want to familiarise yourself with it you can listen to a version of it here.

Thank you to all who have already responded to our request for consent to continue to send you these and other mailings.  If you are still to do so please can you do it as soon as possible so that we can keep you posted with news?

The coming weekend is a bank holiday but our Sunday worship continues as usual at 9, 10.30 and 6.30.  We have children and youth groups running at the 10.30 and Open to God is at 6.30pm.

Finally, don’t forget to sign up for our shared lunch on Sunday 17th June when we will say farewell to the More family.

Have a good week.

Steve
