Vicar's update 18th JuneSteve Newbold 2017 web2

Thank you to all who helped with and supported yesterday's farewell to the More Family.  It was a great day and I know that Ajay and family were really appreciative.

We soon will welcome Sam Sanya as our new curate.  Sam will be ordained at St Paul’s Cathedral on 30th June at 3pm and we have some tickets for those who would like to go to the service - please sign the list at church if you would like one.  There will also be some unreserved places in the Cathedral.   We will welcome Sam, Rachael and Hannah-Joy at our morning services on 1st July followed by a church Hog Roast lunch – sign up if you can come so that we know how many to cater for.

Our Community Fete is just a couple of weeks away on Sunday 8th July – we really do need everyone to help in some way and in particular:
·         delivering leaflets (there are lots in church)
·         sponsorship for the BBQ/music zone
·         lending cool boxes
·         help on the day especially with set up and pack down
If you can help lease contact Jane Maffett (jane@maffett.co.uk)

A number of people are planning to be baptised and/or confirmed on Sunday 23rd September.  If you haven’t taken that step yet why not consider joining them – speak to me as soon as possible.

I was delighted to announce yesterday that Izzy Cole (our Intern) has been appointed as the new Youth Worker at St Pauls Church in Ealing.  Izzy will be leaving us on Sunday 22nd July when we will have the opportunity to pray for her and wish her well.

Open to God is this Sunday at 6.30pm and Izzy Cole will be talking about her recent trip to the Kenya where she worked with the Masai people.  It was a faith stretching experience – come along if you can and hear some great stories.

Have a good week.
