Vicar's update 2nd July
What a wonderful weekend. On Saturday some of us were present as Sam Sanya was ordained as a Deacon in St Paul’s Cathedral. Then we had the joy of welcoming the Sanya family to St Stephen’s on Sunday morning. Do use the coming months to get to know the Sanya’s and help them to settle in to Ealing – they would love to be invited round to meet you whether for a coffee or a meal.
Our free Community Fete is on Sunday– we really do need everyone to be involved in some way and still need help with set up (from 7.30am) and pack down (after 4pm – 6.30pm). If you are still to volunteer please contact Jane Maffett (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Because of the Fete we will have a short said Communion Service at 9am in church and informal worship in the Park at 12noon. There is no 10.30am or 6.30pm service at church.
Our monthly Prayer Meeting is tonight at 8pm in Cleveland Park as we ‘claim the ground’ and pray for the Fete.
Our former curate Ajay More has been appointed as Associate Vicar at St John’s Greenhill in Harrow. Do continue to pray for the More family and especially for Ajay as he finds his feet in Harrow.
I am frequently asked to approve applications for places at church schools. Most schools require certification of the regularity of attendance (some up to weekly for 5 years). Parents, please note that the only fair way that we can do this is to use the attendance data recorded in our children’s groups register. It is best for you to be aware of this at an early stage rather than face disappointment in the future.
Finally if you want to watch England v Columbia with friends join us at the Drayton Court Pub from 6.30pm tomorrow night.
Have a good week.
