Vicar's update 28th AugustSteve Newbold 2017 web2

I hope you have had a good summer.  After weeks of glorious sunshine, a summer of fantastic sport, our own Community Fete, special anniversaries and birthdays and for some of us holidays, it is time to look forward to a new season of church life and the return of a more regular pattern to our lives.
This Sunday (2nd September) we will be thinking about how we can get going again after the break and praying for those pupils and staff about to start back at school/college/uni.  At the 10.30 All Age Service please encourage your child to bring something with them from their school e.g hat, jumper, book bag with logo etc.  I hope you will all join us at 9am or 10.30am so that we can begin this new term together.
Year after year we have seen lives changed through the Alpha course.  This autumn Alpha begins on Thursday 27th September.  Would you like to join us this year or is there someone you can invite to come?
A reminder that our former curate Ajay More will be licensed as Associate Vicar at St John’s in Harrow on Sunday 16th September at 6.30pm.  He would like us to attend if we can and a sign up list is available so that he can know how many to expect.
Looking ahead to next summer – we will again be going to New Wine week 1  (in 2019 it is in Peterborough for the first time).  You can purchase tickets before 3rd September (and pay by 30th November) in the New Wine flash sale at significantly reduced prices – click here for details.

Have a good week.
