Vicar's update 15th October
We are at that time of year when we are all asked to review our financial giving to St Stephen’s. There should be a letter for everyone with a Pledge Card to complete by 4th November. If you missed my talk from yesterday can I encourage you to listen to it here before you complete the card.
Yesterday we sang a lovely new song at 10.30 - Who you say I am. If you want to familiarise yourself with it you can listen again here.
At the end of half term week we have a busy weekend. On Saturday 27th there is a Quiet Morning (10-12.30) and a Big Clean/Odd Job afternoon (1pm-5pm). On Sunday 28th as well as our usual services the People and Plant Gathering meet (12.30pm – 2.30pm) and then our Annual Memorial Service takes place at 3.30pm.
Our annual Light Party is on Wednesday 31st October from 5pm – 7pm. It is open to all families with children aged 5-11. Please book your places via the Church Website here.
Finally, a reminder that to mark this year’s very special Remembrance Sunday (11th November), as well as our usual morning services, we will have a special Remembrance Service at 6.30pm with a focus on those whose names were listed on the WW1 War Memorial in the old church building. There is also a 100 years on display of art (original photography/painting/poetry) - contributions invited from adults and children. Further information from Caroline Jamieson or Jane Maffett.
Have a good week.
