Vicar's update 25th FebruarySteve Newbold 2017 web2

I hope you have had a good weekend (and half term for those who have been off school or on holiday).  Yesterday we concluded our sermon series looking at worship and my talk on Meeting God in Communion is now available on the website here.  A reminder that if you would like your (baptised) child to start to receive Communion please let me know in advance.

Next week we have our monthly Prayer Meeting on Tuesday 5th March.  This month it will look a little different – the focus will be our youth work and there will be interactive prayer stations available from 6.30pm - 8.00pm (come and go as you wish) with a time of prayer together at 8pm.  Do join us if you can and especially if you are the parent(s) of young people.

Also, next week Lent begins on Ash Wednesday (6th March) – there will be said Communion services at 9.30am and 8pm.

Our new Bible reading resource to read the New Testament in a year is now available – do take a copy.  The plan is that we begin together so that we start a new devotion during Lent.  The principle is simple and involves reading one chapter a day for five days each week.  We have called it 5x5x5 (5 days a week, 5 minutes to read, 5 ways to dig deeper) and it is easy to use. There are two days each week to either catch up or ponder on the chapters read.

Finally a gentle word to parents.  We have some expensive electrical equipment and musical instruments in Church and would ask that children be supervised and kept away from the stage area, piano and organ after Sunday morning services.  We don’t want either young children or the equipment to get damaged.  Many thanks.

This coming Sunday (3rd March) we have our usual services at 9am and 6.30pm and All Age Worship at 10.30am.   I look forward to seeing you then.
