Vicar's update 23rd AprilSteve Newbold 2017 web2

We had a wonderful Holy Week and Easter weekend as we celebrated the death and resurrection of Jesus.  Easter Day was particularly special and both morning services were full of people and of joy.  I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the week so special.  Behind the scenes many of you were involved with moving furniture, decorating the church, serving refreshments, leading sung worship, reading, speaking and so much more.  THANK YOU all so much.

As always, the Leadership Team welcome feedback about our Holy Week and Easter Services so that we can plan for next year.  If you would like, please let me know by email what you thought worked and where we might look to improve.

Most of our children and young people return to school today as the new term begins. Those at University also return soon.   Do pray for them and school/university staff as this term contains big exams and changes for some.

This coming Sunday our morning services return to ‘normal’ with the 9am Traditional and 10.30 Informal with children’s groups. Later in the day at 6.30pm we have our Annual Church Meeting.  At the meeting we will hear reports from the last year and I will outline something of our vision for the year ahead.  We also elect Churchwardens and new members to the Church Council – we already have a number of nominations but it’s not too late for more.

Copies of all the relevant documents for the meeting are available on line here - please save paper by downloading them to your tablet, phone or laptop and bring them to the meeting.  For those unable to do so a few hard copies are available at Church.   The meeting lasts about an hour and a half and will be followed by cheese and wine.

Have a good week as we continue to bask in the reality of the Resurrection.

Steve
