Vicar's update 29th April
We had a good Annual Meeting yesterday. I am delighted that Caroline Jamieson and Dele Fasanya were elected as Churchwardens for the coming year. We also agreed to appoint some Deputy Wardens to enable the new Wardens to share the demands of the role. Jess Ely, Qin Li and Nancy Yang were elected as new members of the Church Council and Linda Rivans was elected to the Deanery Synod. A full copy of the Church Council membership will be available in Church on Sunday. For those who were unable to attend, a copy of my talk from the meeting will be available on our website later today. It was a really positive meeting where we gave thanks to God for his faithfulness to us over the past year and looked forward with expectancy to all that He has for us in the coming year. I am so grateful that we are a church where so many are committed to furthering the Kingdom of God and willing to give of their time, gifts and money to make that happen. Thank you all.
At the meeting I spoke about a local event that we will be a part of – Hand to Hand. You can see a short promotional film here. It's will be a fun event where your involvement will really make a difference to the lives of those who would otherwise go without food. We will be joining other local churches on Saturday 8th June at Haven Green Baptist Church. You and your family can sign up to take part for as long as you are able knowing that you will be helping to pack food which will be sent to parts of the world where people would otherwise be hungry. Our Diocese is currently reviewing its overall strategy (currently called Capital Vision 2020) as we look forward together. If you would like to contribute to this please use the survey form here.
