Vicar's update 7th MaySteve Newbold 2017 web2

I hope you have enjoyed a good bank holiday weekend.
This evening (Tuesday) at 8pm we hold our monthly 1st Tuesday Prayers.  This is a time when we come before God with sung worship and prayer.  This month we will focus on Brexit, praying especially for the Government, various negotiations and that a way forward can be found.  If you are concerned about the future (whatever your views) do come and pray.
Christian Aid Week starts next Sunday (12th), with guest speaker Atim Henshaw from Christian Aid at our morning services. Can you help by donating books, plants or cakes for sale after the 10.30 service?  You are also welcome to stay for a light lunch, and/or come back at 3pm for a wonderful free concert by Coro (an award winning Chamber Choir) with a retiring collection for Christian Aid and tea and cakes to follow. Other ways to get involved are listed on the Mission Team Board.
On Sunday (12th) at 6.30pm we have Open to God.  If you’ve not been before this is a time for seeking the presence of God in extended sung worship, exploring the use of the gifts of the Spirit, teaching and prayer ministry.  This week our teaching will be part of a film series by Mike Pilavachi (Soul Survivor) on hearing from God.

Have a good week
