Vicar's update 24th June
This is an exciting week for us all as Sam Sanya will be ordained as a priest at 7pm on Friday (28th June) at St Martin's Church Kensal Rise NW10 5SN - all are welcome. There is a limited amount of on street parking after 6pm but the best option is to go by public transport - it is only a 2-minute walk from Kensal Green Station on the Bakerloo and Euston Overground lines. Please do pray for Sam this week especially as he goes on retreat prior to the ordination service on Friday.
This Sunday (30th June) we will only have one main morning service at 10.30am as Sam will preside at Holy Communion for the first time - do come to support him if you can. We are also holding a whole church summer BBQ and hope that you will be able to stay. The arrangements are that the church will be providing all the food (inc vegetarian options) so you do not need to bring individual dishes - volunteers have already been asked to organise salads to go with the BBQ. There is no cost but will be the opportunity on the day to make a donation towards the cost. If you haven’t yet signed up please let the church office know asap so that we can order the right amount of food. (Note: there will be a short service of said Morning Prayer at 9am for any who are unable to attend at 10.30am).
'Would you Adam and Eve it?' is on at St Stephen’s next Wednesday 3rd July at 7.15pm. This is a performance by a professional touring theatre company presenting a light hearted look at the first 90 chapters of the bible. You can book tickets on line here, or in person on Sunday morning. We have excellent feedback from someone who went to see it in Brighton last week so do come along for an enjoyable evening.
I hope you have a good week
