Vicar's update 28th May
What a great day we had yesterday as our morning congregations came together as Sam Sanya led us in Communion for the first time. It was a special morning and we enjoyed a lovely BBQ together afterwards. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special – those who shopped and prepared food, cooked the BBQ, moved tables and chairs and cleared up afterwards. Thanks especially to Jane Maffett who organised the BBQ so well and to Ben Harding Anderson who has captured so much of the day in some wonderful photographs.
Tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 8pm we have our monthly Prayer and Praise meeting – do come and join us as we pray for the life and ministry of St Stephen’s.
On Wednesday at 7.15pm we are hosting a performance of 'Would you Adam and Eve it?' Even if you haven’t booked a ticket you can turn up on the night and buy one at the door.
On Saturday 13th July at 9.30am, Becky Young will be speaking at a special breakfast for the whole church (men and women, young and old!). It will be an opportunity to hear more about her work with Youth with a Mission based in Australia. Do sign up at church and come and be inspired and challenged.
This coming Sunday (7th July) we have our usual 9am Traditional Service, All Age Worship at 10.30am will be led by our Youth Group and followed by Café Extra and the Traidcraft Stall. At 6.30pm we have the last Open to God before the summer break. Also on Sunday at 12.15pm we have a short planning meeting for those who are going to New Wine later in the month.
There’s lots going on so hope to see you this week.
