Curate's update 31st DecemberSam Sanya1

On this 7th Day of Christmas, the eve of a new year! The phrase 'New Year's Resolutions' comes to mind. They give us hope and direction but keeping them is not always easy. If we are not careful, we can find ourselves quickly getting off track. In Isaiah 43:18-19 Our God reminds us, "Do not remember the former things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

We are glad to have welcomed so many to St Stephen's over the Christmas season.
On behalf of the clergy and leadership team, I would like to say thank you to everyone for all your seen and unseen contributions for the planning, organising and running of the services.

Steve and Caroline are on leave this week and back next Monday 6th Jan, our prayers for rest and refreshing for them and indeed any of you away or travelling this week.

On Sunday our services resume the usual format; 9am (Traditional) and 10.30am (Informal - this Sunday is All age worship).

Please join us for our first monthly Prayer meeting from 8-9pm next Tuesday 7th Jan 2020 in the church meeting room.
Tonight we are holding a New Year's Eve Party in the Church Centre and you are all invited. The party starts at 9.30pm and will finish at 12.30am.  Bring a bottle, a plate of finger food and your family and friends.   For more information, contact Caroline Jamieson on 0208 8401971.

The Collect for this week;
God in Trinity, eternal unity of perfect love: gather the nations to be one family, and draw us into your holy life through the birth of Emmanuel, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Happy New Year!!!
