Vicar's update 6th JanuarySteve Newbold1

Happy New Year!  Thanks again to all who helped over the Christmas period in so many different ways – you are much appreciated.  We had a wonderful time celebrating with the church full on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
As we begin a New Year we are starting a new sermon series on Sunday mornings, beginning this week (12th).  We will be looking at what it is for all of our lives to be offered back to God whether at home, work, school, with friends as well as at church.
As well as Sunday services, a New Year brings opportunities with mid week groups and events as they start up again.  If you are not yet a member of a mid-week Connect Group this might be a good time to join. Details of different groups are on the website and in our monthly bulletin but if you want to know more or to be introduced to one of the leaders do have a word with me, Sam or Caroline.  Similarly, if you feel called to be more involved in church life in some way (particularly helping with youth, children or welcome and hospitality) do let me know.
We have our monthly Prayer Meeting tomorrow (Tuesday 7th) at 8pm  - we will use this time to commit to God our church life throughout 2020.  Open to God returns this Sunday (12th) at 6.30pm, for the next few weeks we will use these evenings to reflect more deeply on the worship series material preached on Sunday mornings.

Our Big Tearfund Quiz is coming up fast on Friday 24 January at 7.30pm.  The Big Quiz was tremendous fun last time - you can either just book yourself in and we will find you some good table companions or invite friends and reserve a table of 6-8.  You can buy your tickets on Sunday mornings or reserve via this link.
Have a great week.
