Vicar's update 13th JanuarySteve Newbold1

Yesterday we started a new sermon series as we began looking at what it means for all of our lives to be offered back to God whether at home, work, school, with friends as well as at church.  If you missed the first talk you can listen to it here .

Over Christmas we welcomed many visitors, some of whom have since returned.  We want to make new people feel welcome so if you spot someone you don’t recognise in church or at Café,  please do introduce yourself and find out a bit about them.  Our next Welcome Tea for newcomers is on Sunday 16th February.

Last year, many of us made fresh financial pledges for 2020 – if you were one of those please do ensure that any standing order  with your bank has been updated so that St Stephen’s receive the finance that you have planned.  If you missed the opportunity to give, you can do so at any time by making an updated pledge.  Our Giving Coordinators Chris and Helen Irwin-Childs will gladly help you.

Our Big Quiz in aid of Tearfund is on Friday 24th January at 7.30pm. This was great fun last time.  You can either book yourself in and we will find you some good table companions or get together with others and reserve a table of 6-8.  You can buy your tickets on Sunday mornings or reserve via this link

Christian books can be a great source of encouragement and growth.  On Sunday 2nd Feb at Café time and after the service we will be selling Second Hand Christian books at bargain prices (all proceeds towards the cost of replacing some of the church Bibles which are falling apart).  Come ready to buy, and if you have any to donate please bring them on Sunday 26th January so we have time to sort them.  Contact Caroline Newbold for more details.

Finally, the Diocese are seeking to employ a new Willesden Area Finance Adviser.   If you are interested or know someone who is do have a look here. For those wishing to apply, new users to the system will need to register to create an account. Thereafter, you can simply log in.

Have a great week.
