Vicar's update 27th MarchSteve Newbold1

I am excited to tell you that on Sunday at 11am we will be bringing you St Stephen’s Live, our new online Sunday Service.  It will be streamed via You Tube and should be much easier to access than the service last week.  All you need to do on the day is to go to our church website or click here .  You are advised to grab a coffee and get lined up a few minutes before 11am so that you are ready as we start.  I attach a sheet that you can use with the words of the songs and hymns and you may want to have a Bible to hand and find the reading in advance, Psalm 121.  A reminder that the clocks go forward by one hour on Saturday night – you don’t want to miss the service!
On Saturday evening many will mark Earth Hour and if you want to take part there are some resources here which have been designed by Sue Charlton for use at home.
It has been good to hear encouraging reports of how people engaged with our day of prayer and fasting last Wednesday and many of you joined us for Night Prayer on Wednesday evening.  For those who are unfamiliar - Night Prayer is one of the set services for every day of the year which take place in Anglican churches all over the world.  Many other churches are also streaming these services at the moment.  You can find the prayers online here.  We are going to repeat Night Prayer at 8pm every Wednesday throughout these months and continue to cry out to God for him to intervene.  So do join us each week in fasting, praying and if you can join us online for the service – live-streamed on the St Stephen’s Group page on Facebook.
Do remember that the Lent appeal is open until Easter.  Rather than give direct to St Stephen’s you may find it easier to donate direct here
Looking forward to meeting you online on at 11am on Sunday morning.
