Vicar's update 26th OctoberSteve Newbold1

Thank you all for your prayers, kind messages and offers of help while Caroline, Lydia and I are self-isolating.  Caroline is now feeling much better and my symptoms have been very mild so we are on the mend!

We are sorry that both the Light Party on Saturday and Sunday services were cancelled at short notice but given the Prime Ministers announcement on Saturday evening, there will be further changes in the weeks ahead and we will mostly be returning online.  Next Sunday (8th November) our pattern will be:

9am – 10am                Church open for Private Prayer only (no services)
11.15am – 11.45am    Online Service via our website and You Tube
(note time for this week only to allow for people to mark 2 mins silence in other ways).
During this week we will have:

  • Morning Prayer on both Tuesday and Thursday on Zoom
  • Prayer Meeting on Tuesday 3rd Nov 8pm on Zoom (ask for joining details)
  • Morning Prayer on Wednesday 11am (not Communion this week) in Church

Our virtual Tearfund Big Quiz Night will still take place on Saturday 14th November at 8pm.  You are welcome to join in by yourself or with others (maybe your Connect Group using whatsapp / texts / phones to discuss your answers).  This is a major fundraiser for Tearfund so we will be asking for donations to support their excellent work.

Sadly, the coming weeks will see many people will be struggling with increased hardship. If you can help the work of the Ealing Foodbank by donating food at a local supermarket please do so - details of the current needs are attached.

As we enter another period of lockdown and increasing uncertainty the one thing we can all do is to pray.  Please do join us when you can but also use these days to pray for each other (using the updated St Stephen's Prayer Diary) and for an end to this terrible pandemic.

Be assured of my love and prayers for you all.
