Vicar's update 5th OctoberSteve Newbold1

I hope you are well have had a good weekend.

It was wonderful to be able to gather together in our Church building again on Sunday – whether you were with us in person or joined in the Livestream I hope you enjoyed our worship.  Do remember to book your seats on the website each week, including for children and young people’s groups. Next Sunday (13th) services will be as usual:
  9am                Holy Communion
11am                Informal Service (with JAM and Youth Group)
also Livestreamed via our website and You Tube

The Traidcraft stall will again be open after both services.

Even in this strange year, Advent is a busy time as we prepare for Christmas.  Perhaps you need some space to slow down and reconnect with the real reason for this season.  If so you may also wish to pop in on Saturday afternoon (2-4pm) when the Church will be open for any who would like to come for a time of quiet and personal prayer

From this week, our 11am Wednesday Communion service will be back in the Church building.

Full details of our Christmas services are on the website here - do note the changes from previous years. You will be able to book for the main services and events from this Thursday 10th December.  Note: bookings for the usual 9am and 11am Sunday services on 20th and 27th December will be open from the previous Sunday as usual.

The Christmas Carol Window trail illustrating different Christmas Carols opens on Thursday (10 December).  This is aimed to be a public witness of the nativity story in a year where sadly we cannot welcome the huge numbers through our doors that we usually see. The map will be published on the website in the next few days.

I hope you have felt supported by the church community, the Body of Christ, during this year.  Just a reminder that you can post a message on our private Facebook group St Stephen's Hub - the perfect place to share information, ask for prayer or offer to lend, sell or ask to borrow something.  Similarly, if you would like to contribute something to the email update (separate to my letter) which is sent to all church members, do send it to Morgen Edwards our Communications Manager (admin@ststephens-ealing.org) and if possible we will include it in the next one.

Have a good week

Steve
