Vicar's update 14th December
I hope you are well and have had a good weekend.
It was good to again gather together in our Church building again on Sunday – whether you were with us in person or joined in the Livestream I hope you enjoyed the worship. Do remember to book your seats on the website each week, including for children and young people’s groups. Next Sunday (20th) morning services will be as usual:
9am Holy Communion
11am Informal Service (with JAM and Youth Group)
also Livestreamed via our website and You Tube
Also on Sunday is our online Carol Service at 6pm (via our website and You Tube). A huge amount of work has gone into preparing this and I hope you will be able to join and sing along with the carols in the comfort of your own home. We are going to be joined by our two MPs and a number of local Councillors. If you are unable to make 6pm, the service will be available to watch any time after it is launched.
Full details of our other Christmas services are on the website here. Do note the changes from previous years and book as soon as you can – seats are now filling up. Note: bookings for the usual 9am and 11am Sunday service on 27th December will be open from next Sunday as usual.
The Nativity Trail for families on Christmas Eve is proving popular and will soon be fully booked, so don't miss out if you would like to come. There is further information on the website.
The Christmas Carol Window trail illustrating different Christmas Carols is now open and a map of their locations is on the website here – they are well worth a visit. Well done to all our artists and to Jane Maffett for organising it.
Obviously our Church income has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and earlier in the autumn we asked everyone to reflect on their individual giving to St Stephens. If you have decided that you are able to increase your giving in 2021 now would be a good time to make the necessary change with your bank so that it takes effect from January.
Finally, if you have any Church news for our next Update please can you pass it to Morgen Edwards our Communications Manager by Wednesday this week?
Have a good week
