Vicar's update 14th JanuarySteve Newbold1

The Leadership Team met this morning to think about how we can support one another as we live through a further period of Lockdown with our church building closed for public worship. Here are a few headlines:

  • As you know we will continue to Livestream our main service at 11am each Sunday - do join via the website
  • From this Sunday we are moving our children's groups JAM online at 10am.  We know that families are having to spend a lot of time online (so are deliberately keeping this short, varied and interactive) but it is really important for us to support and encouragement our children's Christian faith so please do join in with this if you can.
  • We are reintroducing a post service chat time each Sunday but are moving it to the afternoon to allow space after the Livestream.    Called Sunday Teatime Chat, it will run from 4.30-5pm and provide a relaxed and informal opportunity during lockdown to catch up with other members of St Stephen's on Zoom.  This week's (very loose) theme will be cake - you may want to bring some along!  Queries to Jane Maffett

From February we will be introducing a participative 9am Sunday Communion service on Zoom on the first Sunday of each month.

We do encourage you to look out for each other and your neighbours.  These are difficult times for us all and we want to ensure that no-one is ignored.  Why not give someone different a call or send them a text/card just to let them know you are thinking of them - it might make all the difference to them.
