Vicar's update 16th FebruarySteve Newbold1

I hope you have had a good weekend and managed to join us for worship on Sunday – whether at the children and youth groups or the 11am Livestream.

At our 11am livestream service Sue Charlton was interviewed about the Show the Love campaign which is organised by the Climate Change Coalition.  You can read more on our website here. We also concluded our sermon series looking at the ups and downs of life and Ian Jamieson spoke to us about God’s sovereign plans even when life seems tough.  You can catch up or listen again here.

Many of us will be enjoying pancakes today as the season of Lent begins tomorrow, Ash Wednesday.  To mark the beginning of Lent we will hold a special Communion Service tomorrow at 11am (on Zoom).

Every Wednesday during Lent we will hold an informal form of Stations of the Cross at 8pm (again on Zoom).  This is a reflective service with space for quiet and meditation.

Our website contains some resources that you may find helpful during Lent and a simple daily activity that you can use can be found here.

From next week our Sunday catch up will move back to after the 11am service. Although we are calling it Zoom at Noon please do join us immediately after the service finishes for an informal catch up.  The joining code is the same as before.

This week we have as well as our weekly Sunday 11am Livestreamed service we have:

  • Morning Prayer on  Thursday at 9am
  • Ash Wednesday Holy Communion on Wednesday at 11am
  • Stations of the Cross for Lent on Wednesday at 8pm
  • JAM – Children’s Groups on Sunday at 9.30am and 10am All of these are on Zoom and if you want the passcodes, do contact me.

With my love and prayers

Steve
