Vicar's update 11th AprilSteve Newbold1

I hope you have had a good weekend.  On Sunday mornings, in these weeks following Easter, we are looking at some of the resurrection accounts in the Gospels and this morning Caroline Newbold spoke to us about Jesus bringing peace to our fears and faith to our doubt (John 20:19-end).  There is also an interview with someone who took part in our last online Alpha course.  You can catch up on all of our Livestreamed services here.
I am sure we have all been impacted by the sad death of HRH Prince Philip.  Because of the Covid restrictions we are instructed not to offer the opportunity of signing a physical book of condolence but The Church of England has opened an online book where we can write a personal message - you can add your message here.
The Revd June Winfield’s funeral is on Tuesday 13th April 2021 at 1.15pm.  If you want to watch online please contact Rosemary Beardow ( for the log in details.
Following the resignation of Beth Skelton, the Churchwardens have asked Caroline Newbold to take on some of the duties of Youth Pastor whilst we seek to recruit a replacement for Beth who left us last week.  Please do pray for Caroline as she manages this additional responsibility.
A reminder that we are running Alpha online soon, starting on Thursday 22nd April.  We already have a number of people who have indicated that they are coming. Would you like to join or can you encourage a friend or family member to do so? Please contact Sam Sanya (
There is still time to take part in the Easter Story Trail which will remain until next Sunday 18th. Do remember to let us know when you have completed the trail in order to receive your special gift!

This coming week as well as our Sunday services (9am in Church and 11am Livestream) we have:

  • Morning Prayer on Tuesday and Thursday at 9am
  • Holy Communion on Wednesday at 11am
  • JAM – children’s groups Sunday at 9.30am and 10am.
  • Zoom at Noon – informal catch up from 11.45am

All of these are on Zoom and if you want the passcodes, do contact Sam Sanya (
With my love and prayers
