Vicar's update 4th May
I hope you have had a good bank holiday weekend. On Sunday we concluded our series looking at aspects of the resurrection by thinking about the new life that Jesus offers to us all. You can catch up on all of our Livestreamed services here.
We are so grateful that during 2020 our church income held up and we managed to end the year with a more or less balanced budget. The early months of 2021 however have seen a shortfall to date of almost £7,000. Clearly if that were to continue throughout 2021 we would be in some difficulty. So this is a plea that if you have committed to give to St Stephen’s you do so. Obviously if your own income has suffered because of the pandemic we do understand but it would be helpful if you could let our Giving Coordinators know so that we can plan accordingly. Also, if you wanted to make a new or one off gift you can use the link on our website.
Our Church Annual Meeting which will be held on Wednesday 26th May at 8pm. At this Annual Meeting we will elect two Churchwardens and 3 members to the Parochial Church Council. Nominations for all roles will be open soon.
Christian Aid Week starts next Sunday (9th) when we will welcome Ben Selfe from Christian Aid as our speaker. There’s lots going on during Christian Aid Week and the full details are on our website here. If you have unwanted books, plants, jigsaws and puzzles to sell at the Christian Aid Sale on 15th May please contact Sue Charton (email@example.com).
This coming week as well as our Sunday services (9am in Church and 11am Livestream) we have:
Holy Communion on Wednesday at 11am
Morning Prayer on Thursday at 9am
