Vicar's Update

Monday 31st January 2022

I hope you are keeping well.

Yesterday we continued our sermon series looking at the big themes of the Bible and how they relate to our lives.  Enid Barron spoke about the Biblical Exodus and how we can find peace in God through the different sorts of exile we face in our own lives.  You can catch up again here.

Our monthly Prayer Meeting is on Tuesday (1st) at 8pm in Church – do join us if you are able – the Bible tells us that the prayer of a righteous person has a powerful effect! (James 5)

Next Sunday (6th) we take a break from the Bible series as we recall the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple (as recorded in Luke 2: 22-40) - also known as Candlemas.  Join us at 9am for our Traditional Communion or 10.30am for our All Age Worship.  This is also Accession Day which marks the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen taking the throne.  We will remember and give thanks for her life of service during our morning services.

During Café on Sunday, our Traidcraft Stall will be open so come prepared with both your reusable cup for coffee and your cash or card to buy some fairly traded products.

Alpha online started last Thursday but it’s not too late to join in. Perhaps you have thought about doing Alpha but never got round to it- this is your opportunity.  Contact caroline@ststephens-ealing.org to register or for more information.

Our church practice is to allow all those who are baptised (adults and children) to receive Holy Communion. If you are a parent whose child is not yet taking Communion please do speak to me if you and your children are interested in taking this step.

Don’t forget that we have re-advertised the post of Worship Pastor.  You can help us to make this widely known by sharing the link and ‘liking’ or re-posting on social media.  It really can help to spread the word.  Details are available here.

Have a good week.
