Vicar's Update

Monday 4th April

One of the most important things that we can do during these uncertain times is to pray and our monthly Prayer Meeting will be held in Church on Tuesday (5th April) at 8pm – do come if you can.

Yesterday we continued our series on The Creed and Enid Barron helped us to think about  what it means to say that We believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.  You can catch up here.

At both Communion Services we were able to receive both bread and wine in a safe way by using individual cups.   I know that many appreciated being able to do this but as this was an experiment we would welcome your feedback so we can decide how to progress.  Please do email me or Caroline as soon as possible.

Next Saturday morning is our Big Clean/Odd job morning.  Thank you to those who have signed up to help but if you forgot you are still welcome to simply turn up on the morning anytime between 9.30am and 12noon.  Refreshments provided!

Next Sunday, Holy Week begins as we again walk with Jesus to his cross and resurrection.  We start on Palm Sunday with the usual 9am service but the 10.30am service will begin with a short time of worship in the car park to which we invite both congregations.  As the 10.30 will be our monthly All Age Service it will not be livestreamed.

Details of all the Holy Week services are on our website here – please do sign up if you wish to attend our Maundy Thursday meal and Communion service.

We would like some volunteers to read at the Good Friday 2pm service and also at the Easter Day 7am service.  If you are willing and able please do let me know.

Our Church Electoral Roll is open to join for new members - if you are not a member please consider joining.  Details of eligibility and how to apply can be found here.

We will be reintroducing a printed Church Update every fortnight from Easter.  Rather than something completely new, this will contain the same content as we currently email out to everyone on a Thursday so it will be most useful for those not on email and visitors.  The first of these updates will be emailed to all on Maundy Thursday and available in Church on Easter Day.

Finally, thanks to all who have already given to our Lent appeals – for those still to do so please consider using the website to give online.

I know that some of you are planning to be away now that the schools are on holiday but whatever you are doing do keep safe and have a good week.

With my love and prayers

Steve
