Vicar's Update

Tuesday 16th May

Yesterday we marked the start of Christian Aid week in our morning services, you can catch up here.  Next Sunday (22nd) at 3pm there will be a Concert in Church by renowned Chamber Choir Coro  with tea to follow, donations to Christian Aid.  I am sorry to say that the Car Wash planned for Saturday has had to be cancelled due to a lack of support.

Last night we had our Church Annual Meeting – thank you to all who came.  At this meeting we gave thanks to Caroline Jamieson for her service as Churchwarden over the past 4 years.  We also elected Mary Ann Auckland and Ann Toley as our Churchwardens for the year ahead.  Alice Zhang, Xiaoe Li, Janet Sehgal and Jen Whadcoat were all elected to serve on the Church Council – a list of all church Council members is attached.  Please do pray for us all as we journey forward through these challenging times.

We are currently advertising for a new Worship Pastor.  This is an important role in the life of the church, supporting both of our morning services and previous advertisements have proved unsuccessful. Please do pray that the right person sees the advert and applies this time round.

Ascension Day is on Thursday 26th May and to mark this important day in the church calendar there will be a short said Communion in Church at 7.30pm.

Our new curate Ruth Robinson will be ordained at St Paul’s Cathedral on Saturday 2nd July at 3pm.  We still have some tickets available so if you would like to go please let me know.

Wishing you a good week.

Steve
