Vicar's Update

Monday 23rd May 2022

It was lovely to see so many people in Church on Sunday, including a few who have not been able to come for a while.  Ian Jamieson preached about Jesus healing the disabled man (John 5) and if you missed the service you can catch up here.

This Thursday (26th May) is Ascension Day and to mark this important day in the church calendar there will be a short said Communion in Church at 7.30pm.

Next weekend St Stephen’s are responsible for running the Soup Kitchen at St John’s Church.  With some of the usual helpers away, we are short of volunteers for both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. If you can offer to help please contact Naomi Rattrey direct (nrattrey@hotmail.co.uk) as soon as possible.

The Queen’s Jubilee celebrations are coming up soon and if you haven’t yet signed up for the special events at St Stephen’s have a look here and join in.

Last week I was able to spend a day in at Trinity College Bristol with our new curate Ruth Robinson as she prepares to join us in July.  Ruth will be ordained at St Paul’s Cathedral on Saturday 2nd July at 3pm.  We still have some tickets available so if you would like to go please let me know asap.

Wishing you a good week.

Steve
