Vicar's Update

Monday 27th June 2022

Are you coming to our Church Family BBQ next Sunday?

Next Sunday we start a new season in our church life together as we are joined by our new curate Ruth Robinson (together with her family Mark, Oisín
and Aoibheanna).  Ruth will be taking part in both morning services (9am Traditional Communion, 10.30am All Age Worship) and after the 10.30am service we would love everyone to stay for lunch, celebrate together and say hello to the Robinson family.  There’s no charge although donations on the day are welcome.  If you haven’t yet signed up please do let us know by return so that we can ensure that we have enough food.

Ruth will be ordained as a Deacon at St Paul’s Cathedral at 3pm on Saturday.  As this is a ticketed service only a few of us can be present but we can all join in via the livestream here.

Before all this, on Friday evening, former member of St Stephen’s, Urmila Kurkalang, will be ordained as a Priest at St Peter's Ealing at 6.00pm (not 6.30pm as previously indicated).  This service is not ticketed so do come along to support Urmila if you are able.

Looking ahead, our next monthly Prayer Meeting will be on Wednesday (not Tuesday) 6th July at 8pm.

On Sunday 17th July we have a shared lunch for all church families with children aged 0-18. If that's you please do come along - there is another sign up list in church.

If you missed yesterday’s service, or any others, you can catch up on our You Tube channel. Caroline Newbold spoke from Galatians 5 about the freedom that Jesus brings, and the importance of asking for the help of the Holy Spirit to overcome those things that hold us back.

Please do pray for the next phase of our church life together; for Ruth as she prepares to be ordained and to join us at St Stephen’s and for the Youth Leader post we are advertising - deadline is Saturday 2nd July.

Wishing you all a good week.

Steve
