Weekly Update - stamps

Families Bring and Share Lunch
On Sunday 17th July we are holding a Bring and Share lunch for families with children aged 0-18 years old. It will take place after the 10:30am service and lunch should begin between 12-12:30pm. This is a good chance for us to get to know each other better. There is a sign up sheet in church so please fill in your details and what you will be bringing so we have variety.

Christians Against Poverty
On Sunday 17th July we will be joined by Mark Dishley, the new CAP Centre Manager who will be speaking at both morning services.

Alpha
Who was your Epaphras (Colossians 1:7)?  We thought about this last Sunday.  St Stephen's will be hosting a new Alpha course in September, who could you invite?  Please pray about it now because taking that step of faith could change someone's life. If you are interested please speak to Caroline Newbold.

Save the dates:
Sunday 11 September – Church picnic in Cleveland Park from noon to 2pm
Sunday 25 September – Ealing Half Marathon with UFO Steel band and water station

Summer Services
From Sunday 31st July to 28th August inclusive we will have a single service for the Whole Church each Sunday at 10am.  This will be a relaxed celebration of Holy Communion with opportunities for Prayer Ministry each week and will be followed by Café.

Ealing Foodbank
Attached is the newest shopping list for July. Thank you so much for your support. They're currently seeing levels of demand exceeding what they saw in the busiest days of the pandemic and they value each donation which helps them to feed local people in Ealing!

Most of the items haven't changed from last month as it's the basics like tinned fish, breakfast cereals, UHT milk, rice and tinned fruit and veg that we need the most. Ealing Foodbank would be so grateful if you could pop a donation into their warehouse on a Wednesday or one of their donation points around the borough: https://ealing.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/

Church Council (PCC)
The PCC met last week and discussed the following:

  • The difficulties in recruiting staff to vacant posts (Worship Pastor, Youth Pastor) which have been advertised in recent months.
  • The estimated rise in costs for the Entrance Improvement Project and ways of managing the project within budget.
  • Our Safeguarding Policy, which was adopted for another year.
  • Our Finances, and noted that the 2021 accounts were awaiting comment from the Independent Examiner.

Prayer for the Week
Gracious Father,
by the obedience of Jesus
you brought salvation to our wayward world:
draw us into harmony with your will,
that we may find all things restored in him,
our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
