Vicar's Update

Tuesday 30th August 2022

Our joint summer services have now come to an end.  I don’t know about you but I really enjoyed being able to worship together in this way whilst so many were away on holiday, and it was encouraging to see so many spending time chatting to each other over coffee after church.  We may well look to do something similar next summer but before planning this I would be glad of any individual comments that you may wish to make - please feel free to email me.

Next Sunday (4th) we return to our usual pattern of services – 9am Traditional Communion and 10.30am All Age Worship (we do not livestream on the first Sunday of each month).  At our 10.30am service we will be looking ahead to the autumn term and in particular praying for our children as they prepare to return to school and university.  If your child is starting school or moving to a new school we would love them to bring a piece of their new uniform or equipment to church with them.

It's St Stephen's turn to run Soup Kitchen this weekend - please let Naomi Rattray know asap if you can help.

On Tuesday (6th September) we will be having First Tuesday Prayers at 8pm when we pray for the needs of our church – this month will have a particular focus on Alpha which begins at the end of September.

Don't forget we have a bring your own picnic for everyone, in Cleveland Park after the 10:30 service on 11th September – do come if you can.

Finally, we are about to advertise for our vacant staff posts (Centre Manager, Worship Pastor and Youth Leader).  Please pray that we will be successful in recruiting to these crucial roles and help spread the word by passing on the social media posts and adverts as widely as is possible.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Steve
