Vicar's Update

Monday 12th September 2022

This weekend, all our thoughts were dominated by the death of our Queen and on Sunday we took time to remember her at our morning services.  Caroline Newbold spoke about her life of service and how we too are called to serve God in our daily lives and the life of this Church.  Caroline outlined some of the areas in which we need more volunteers and we are grateful to those who responded on the day.  You can listen to her talk here. If the Holy Spirit is nudging you to take on a new role please do let us know.

During this week the Church will be open each day for you to come and be quiet, light a candle and/or sign the Book of Condolence.

Next Sunday (18th) we will keep as Climate Sunday with a particular focus on the environment.  We are welcoming speakers from LAMB one of our mission partners who will talk to us about the work of LAMB and the effect of climate change in Bangladesh.

On Sunday 2nd October we will mark Harvest with a collection of food gifts and/or money to the Ealing Foodbank (no fresh produce please).  Also on that day, the Big Green Fair will take place at church from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. Do come and invite friends and families too.  If you are able to help on the day in serving refreshments and ?with other activities – please contact Sue Charlton (sacharlton@btinternet.com).

The funeral of George Hore has now been arranged and will be held at St Stephen’s on Wednesday 28th September at 1pm followed by cremation at Mortlake Crematorium.  All are welcome to attend.

Alpha also begins on 28th September and will be in person at church on Wednesday evenings. We gave out invitations on Sunday (lots more at church) to give to friends and neighbours about this great opportunity and to remind us to pray.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.
