Vicar's Update

Monday 3rd October 2022

Yesterday was a busy Sunday! Thank you to all who gave to the work of the Ealing Foodbank, either financially or with gifts of food, as we gave thanks to God for his many gifts to us as part of our celebration of Harvest. If you missed out you can give directly on our website here. We also joined in celebrating with friends and family of Matthew and Mark Campbell as they were baptised.

It was good too to hold a Green Fair and to welcome friends and neighbours.  Thank you to all who worked so hard to put this on and especially to Sue Charlton for coordinating the Fair.

Next Sunday our focus will be on healing.  We will welcome our friend the Revd Jane Morris to speak at both morning services where there will be the opportunity to be prayed for and anointed with oil for healing

Alpha got off to a good start last week but it’s still not too late to join in – just come along on Wednesday at 7.45pm. We are meeting in person at church and start with homemade cakes, tea and coffee.

As we move into the cooler months we are all aware of the increased cost of living and high energy costs.  At St Stephen’s we will be delaying turning on the heating for as long as possible so do come to church prepared! And if you enjoy a tea or coffee between services it would be a great help if you would remember to bring your own  reusable cup.

Our monthly Prayer Gathering takes place on Tuesday (4th October) at 8pm in Church and on Thursday (6th October) we have an open Prayer Ministry Team meeting for an evening of encouragement and opportunities to be prayed for.  There will be teaching from our curate Ruth and we will be joined by a team from the Oak Tree Anglican Fellowship - all welcome.

Have a good week.

Steve
