Ealing Foodbank are grateful to us for our harvest donations - so far over £1,500 was raised but you can still give via the Church website if you missed out. Your generosity comes at a really vital time and here is the new shopping list for October. After a quieter summer, the last month has been very busy and the Foodbank are in urgent need of some food, toiletries and cleaning products to restock the warehouse for the winter.
On Sunday 16th October a team from St Stephen's will be holding a Harvest Hymns of Praise at 3pm and on Monday 17th October at 11:30am a Communion service. Please pray for those running these services as well as the residents and staff who attend.
Our Christmas Fair is planned Saturday 26th November, 10.30 to 2.30.. It will be similar to last year, with many of the popular stalls, Father Christmas, raffle, refreshments and light lunches. But it will only be possible if we can all pitch in and help out. Our purpose is to raise money for The Grove Missional Community (run by Mark Tate) and the team’s work on Gurnell Grove. We will be holding an information session after the 10.30 service on Sunday 23rd October, and a stand every Sunday from then onwards, so look out for ways you can get involved in the coming weeks. Caroline Jamieson, Jane Maffett and Nicki Cassidy are the organisers this year, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Monday 31st October 5-7pm we will be holding a Light Party our annual Christian alternative to Halloween. This party is for children aged 5-11years. If your child would like to attend you will need to sign them up as spaces will be limited. An online sign up form is available here.

Home Start Ealing
We are delighted to say that we will once again be supporting Home Start Ealing, a charity who supports parents, of young children, who are struggling. We are asking once again for your generosity to help families with children who are less fortunate than ours, by providing the gift of a book for their Christmas party in early December. They really appreciate our on-going help with this. If you have children please involve them in the choosing and buying of this book which is needed by Sunday 4 December at the latest. Please do not wrap the book(s) as the parent will choose the book for their child from the selection provided. Any books can be dropped to Morgen Edwards in the Church office.

Prayer for the Week
God, our judge and saviour,
teach us to be open to your truth
and to trust in your love,
that we may live each day
with confidence in the salvation which is given
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
