Vicar's Update

Monday 31st October 2022

It was lovely to celebrate All Saints Day in church yesterday.  As always, if you were not able to be there, you can catch up by watching the livestream here.

In recent weeks we have been thinking about Christian Giving in the context of setting our church budget for 2023.  If you missed either of the talks given by Ruth or myself, I encourage you to listen here as they provide some useful pointers for us all as we respond in the coming weeks.  By now you should all have received your individual Pledge Pack – please prayerfully respond by 13th November 2022.  Thank you.

I am delighted to let you know that we have appointed a new Centre Manager – Jack Cahill.  Jack will join us on staff in about a month as soon as works to the Church Cottage are completed.  Sadly, we have still not been able to appoint a new Youth Pastor or Worship Pastor - much prayer is needed.

Talking of which …on Tuesday (1st) at 8pm we have our monthly Prayer Gathering where we pray for this church and its mission – please do join us if you can, everyone is welcome.

Sleeves Up Saturday is on Saturday (5th). This is a cleaning and odd job morning and a fun opportunity to give some much-needed attention to our Church building – refreshments provided!  There will be jobs for young and older alike so please come along, even if you can only spare an hour.

Next Sunday (6th) we have our usual 9am and 10.30am services.  At the All Age service we will be baptising Elodie Berglund (granddaughter of Celia Manwaring). In the evening at 6:30 there is a New Wine Celebration at St Paul’s Ealing when Wole Agbaje will be speaking.  Wole is the leader of Imprint Church and heads up the young adult ministry for New Wine.

Finally, Maisie Poulton’s funeral will be at 2pm on Tuesday 15th November at Mortlake Crematorium – all are welcome to attend.

Have a good week.

Steve
