Vicar's Update

Monday 19th December 2022

I hope that you have had a good Christmas celebration over the past few days.  It was lovely to see so many at our main Christmas services and to enjoy worshipping with so many church members, their guests and lots of visitors.

This coming Sunday (1st January) we have just one service for the whole church at 10.30am so do join us if you are able.  Note - there is no 9am service.

On Tuesday 3rd January our midweek services resume both in person and on Zoom and we also have our monthly Prayer Gathering in Church at 8pm.

On Saturday 7th January Bishop Lusa’s Pilgrimage will arrive at St Stephen’s at about 1pm.  You are invited to join him for tea/coffee and a time of informal prayer.  He would also welcome us to join in the walk before or after our stop.  He will be coming to us from St Mary’s Hanwell (leaving there at 12.20pm) and then walking from St Stephen’s to St Peter’s Ealing, leaving here at 1.25pm.

On Sunday 8th January our pattern of Sunday worship returns to normal with both the 9am and 10.30am morning services and groups for children and young people.

Thank you to all who gave to our Christmas appeal which will be divided equally between the Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter and Tear Fund – organisations who support people in need in Ealing and across the world.  If you forgot to do so you can still make a donation via our website here.

Many of you will know that our church vision system is now over 10 years old and after being serviced earlier in the year we were told that both projectors will need replacing in the near future.  For some time, the quality of the images from the right-hand projector have been poor and it decided to stop working completely over Christmas. We will have to address this problem sooner rather than later, but in the meantime you may wish to sit further into the body of the church so that you have a good view of the left hand screen.

On a more positive note, the Church heating was working well over Christmas, so we are praying that continues throughout 2023.

I hope to see many of you on Sunday but if not Caroline and I send you our good wishes for a happy and healthy New Year.

With my love

Steve
