Monday 16th January 2023
We often make resolutions at the start of the year and promise ourselves we will do things differently but have you ever thought of the promises God makes to us?
Yesterday we started a new sermon series looking at some of the promises found in the Bible. We started off by exploring Psalm 91 and asking what it means when God says that he will protect us. If you missed out you can catch up here. Next week we will be thinking about God’s promise to give us strength when we feel weak.
Also yesterday, Ruth Robinson encouraged us all to consider going to New Wine (week A) this summer. New Wine is in a new venue (Maidstone in Kent) so it’s not too far for us to travel. It is also shorter, running from Wednesday 26th – Sunday 30th July which means that you don’t need to take a whole week of annual leave to attend. New Wine has always proved a good experience for those of us who have attended and whether you camp, hire a caravan or stay in a local hotel/B&B you will have a great time. More details are here or speak to Ruth Robinson direct. Tickets are cheaper if you book before 31st January.
Tomorrow evening (Tuesday) our Prayer Ministry Team are meeting in Church at 8pm. If you are interested in coming along to find out more about how to pray for others or just to be encouraged you are very welcome.
During these gloomy days of January it helps to have something to look forward to and and so on Friday 27th January we are holding The Big Quiz Night. This is an evening which raises money for Tearfund but is always fun and enjoyable. You can book as a group (maybe your Connect Group or with a group of friends) or come on your own and we will allocate you a group to join. More details are on the website here.
Have a lovely week.
With my love
Steve
